My Story

Hi, I’m Lane Patterson — the maker behind Wallace Way.

Wallace Way began with a simple goal: to care for my family using ingredients I could trust. I started making beef tallow soap at home, inspired by old-world methods and a desire to return to natural, traditional ways of living. What began as a personal project quickly grew into a passion for slow, sustainable, and intentional craftsmanship.

I source my ingredients as locally as possible and render the beef fat myself to create nourishing, skin-loving tallow. What I can’t get from local farmers or shops, I choose carefully — always organic, always sustainable. Each bar is made by hand, in small batches, using minimal ingredients and no added scents or essential oils, making it safe and gentle for even the most sensitive skin.

To reduce waste, I wrap each soap in reusable, food-safe beeswax cotton cloth. It’s a practical bonus I love sharing — you can use the wrap to cover cut fruit, jars, or snacks, giving new life to every part of the product.

Wallace Way is more than soap — it’s a quiet return to doing things with care. Made for skin, for family, and for the planet.

Thanks for being here.

— Lane

My Mission

My mission is to create honest, nourishing skincare using traditional methods and ingredients I trust. I believe in keeping things simple — sourcing locally, making everything by hand, and using materials that are kind to the earth.

Through Wallace Way, I hope to offer products that support healthy skin, reduce waste, and reconnect us to the slower, more intentional ways of living. Everything I make is rooted in care — for people, for the planet, and for the everyday rituals that keep us grounded.

My History

How we've grown over the years

Wallace Way is deeply personal to me. When I was young, my family made soap by hand to help with my eczema. Their care and the healing power of simple, natural ingredients left a lasting impression.

Years later, I wanted to bring that same gentle, nourishing soap to my own family and others seeking skin-friendly alternatives. I started making beef tallow soap in my kitchen, sourcing local fat and rendering it myself to ensure the highest quality.

What began as a way to care for sensitive skin has grown into a passion for traditional craftsmanship, sustainable ingredients, and low-waste living — all made by hand in my home, with the same love my family showed me.
